Saqib Yousaf BDS, MFDS RCPSG, PgDip Sed

Practice Partner / Dental Surgeon GDC: 152733

Saqib gained his degree from the University of Glasgow, graduating with commendation in the summer of 2008. He subsequently completed posts working in the community dental service providing care to patients with anxiety and complex management issues as well as caring for patients with complex medical issues during his time in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery in Dunfermline. 

He has gone on to develop his skills in General Dentistry passing exams and becoming a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.  Following this he completed a Diploma in Dental Sedation with the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, this enables him to help prove comfortable accessible treatment to anxious patients.

Saqib enjoys all aspects of general  and implant dentistry particularly oral rehabilitation of anxious patients and aesthetic restorative dentistry.  

During his time away from dentistry he likes to play football. Most of his time off is spent with his daughter and son who love to go bowling.

Fahd Safdar BDS, MFDS RCPSG

Practice Partner / Dental Surgeon GDC: 209984

Fahd graduated with commendation from the University of Glasgow in 2011 and went on to gain his MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2013.

Having completed a training year in East Kilbride in 2012 he spent time working in Bellshill Health centre treating children and adults with dementia and special needs. His following two years were spent working in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery departments of Monklands and Crosshouse Hospital. From 2014 he worked at a busy aesthetic clinic in Glasgow city centre as a general dental practitioner.

As well as practicing all aspects of general dentistry Fahd has a keen interest in Short term adult braces/orthodontics, Sedation for anxious patients, Aesthetic/Cosmetic dentistry and Implant dentistry.

Outside work he enjoys spending time with his family, wife and three young children.

Keiran Parnell BSC Oral Health Science

Dental Hygiene Therapist GDC: 269593

Kieran has been with Argyll Smile Dental Care from 2019, graduating with distinction from Dundee Dental School in 2019. He initially became a Dental nurse in Dunfermline before furthering his training into Dental Therapy and moving over to the west coast.

He is Argyll Smile’s Dental Hygiene Therapist and particularly enjoys treating gum disease as well as informing patients about new ways to keep their teeth in tip top shape! He aims to make sure patients are at ease in his surgery and are given the highest possible quality of care. He prides himself on his Scales and Polishes, particularly making sure they are gentle, yet thorough.

In his spare time Kieran enjoys swimming, spending time with family as well as helping run a local Dungeons and Dragons and board game group every weekend. 

Hollie Reid

Dental Nurse in Training

Hollie Joined our Dental Practice  in 2023.  

She brings a welcoming presence and exceptional organisational skills to our team.Known for her warm and friendly personality, she ensures that every visitor feels valued and at ease. With a strong focus on creating a positive first impression, Hollie excels in managing front-of-house operations with professionalism and care. Her approachable demeanor and dedication to providing outstanding service make her an integral part of our organisation. Hollie’s commitment to fostering a friendly and efficient environment ensures that everyone who enters is greeted with a smile.

She is responsible for the day to day running of the practice and is always happy to answer any queries that you may have. 

Eileen Kistner

Head Dental Nurse / Sedation Nurse GDC: 257360

Eileen joined the team in 2018. She qualified from West College Scotland in 2015, with an NEBDN in dental nursing.
Eileen furthered her education in 2019, when she qualified as a dental sedation nurse and, at present, is training in cannulation for dental care. She particularly enjoys being able to treat and care for anxious patients with the help of IV sedation.

Eileen loves to swim and has swam across the Clyde twice, for charity

Molly Martin

Dental Nurse

Molly joined the practice in November 2021 as a Dental Nurse in Training. She subsequently successfully attained her SVQ level 7 in Dental Nursing in 2023.

In addition to her regular nursing responsibilities, Molly is an integral member of our implant team, assisting in implant surgeries. She is currently pursuing her Sedation training.

Outside of work, Molly enjoys socialising with friends and is also an accomplished swimmer.  

Gemma hughes

Dental Nurse / Sedation Nurse
GDC: 315051

Gemma joined our team in June 2022 as a Dental Nurse in Training. She subsequently successfully attained her SVQ Level 7 in Dental Nursing in 2023.

Gemma is also a key member of the implant team at Argyll Smile. She completed her sedation training with the Scottish Sedation training centre. 

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys traveling and socialising with friends. 

Lara Hill

Lara is currently working towards her SVQ in Dental Nursing.

Lara is a dedicated with a passion for excellence and a strong commitment to her work. With a wealth of knowledge and a proactive approach, she brings energy to the team. Outside of her professional life, Lara is a talented singer who enjoys sharing her love of music. She also cherishes spending quality time with her family, which inspires her warm and approachable nature.

Rachel Reid

Dental Nurse in Training

Rachel is currently an integral member of our dental nursing team and brings a calm, reassuring presence to the practice. Friendly and approachable, she has a natural ability to help patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive. Rachel is committed to delivering high standards of care and works thoughtfully and attentively alongside the clinical team.

Outside of work, Rachel has achieved notable success in Highland dancing, having won several awards for her performances. The discipline and dedication required for her dancing are reflected in her professional life, where her composed and relaxing manner helps create a positive experience for both patients and colleagues alike.

Alicia Ward

Dental Nurse in Training

Alicia works part-time with our team and brings a wealth of varied experience to the practice. With a background in healthcare  as a carer and in residential letting, she has developed strong communication skills and a natural ability to support and reassure others. Her broad professional experience allows her to adapt easily and contribute positively to the smooth running of the practice.

Outside of work, Alicia has a wide range of interests. She is an accomplished sailor and enjoys spending time on the water, as well as playing golf. Her active lifestyle and diverse hobbies reflect her energetic and well-rounded personality, making her a valued and engaging member of our team.

 

Emma Mitchell

Head of Reception

Emma is our Head of Reception and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. With excellent communication skills and a naturally warm, welcoming manner, she is often the first friendly face patients see when they arrive. Emma brings a wealth of experience from her background in the travel sector, where she developed strong customer service expertise and extensive administrative skills. Her organised and proactive approach helps keep everything running efficiently behind the scenes.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys training at the gym and values maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. She also cherishes spending time with her young family, balancing her professional dedication with a caring and supportive home life.
